A Modern Bungalow Retreat So Close To LAX
Hotel June
West, LA
When it comes to finding the perfect spot to stay near LAX, Hotel June in West LA has become my absolute go-to. This boutique gem strikes the perfect balance between modern comfort and serene bungalow vibes, making it feel like a peaceful escape just minutes from the airport. If you're thinking about booking, here’s a little breakdown of what I love—and a few things to be prepared for.
The Vibe
The moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a calming, serene atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re staying at a secluded bungalow. The rooms are modern, clean, and absolutely flooded with natural light, which I love. There’s an instant sense of relaxation here, perfect after a busy day of travel.
Amenities
The outdoor pool is heated to a delightful 80 degrees and feels like a hidden tropical retreat. It’s private, quiet, and the ideal spot to unwind. Plus, you can enjoy the delicious food from Caravan Swim Club by the pool! We loved their fresh ceviche and Caravan Fries—perfect poolside snacks.
The beds are super comfortable too; after a day of LA adventures, I couldn’t wait to sink into the cozy pillows for a restful night. View full list of amenities here.
Service
The staff here truly elevate the experience. The front desk is always so thoughtful and anticipates your needs. Valet service is also on point, making everything that much more convenient and stress-free.
Dining
While there are plenty of great restaurants nearby, Doordash was my go-to for trying different local spots from the comfort of my room. Highly recommend Sweet Fin for fresh poke, Supurba for brunch, coffee, and tasty treats, Lucille’s BBQ for comfort food cravings.
Also a perfect option for a morning on-the-go , the Scenic Route near the lobby serves espresso and breakfast starting at 7am, and yes, you can order Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s for a little extra indulgence. For more of an elevated experience when you have a little extra time, make reservations at Elephante in Santa Monica (specifically the Sunset Room) and Culina Ristorante (on the patio) at Four Seasons Beverly Hills. Great White & The Butcher’s Daughter in Venice may not need reservations but always bustling and worth the hype.
Location
Hotel June is tucked away in Westchester, a quiet neighborhood that’s far enough from the downtown chaos but close to everything else. You’re just a quick drive from Marina Del Rey, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica Pier. It’s an easy 30 minutes or less to some of LA’s best spots, including Beverly Hills shopping, Abbot Kinney restaurants, and West Hollywood entertainment.
Be prepared for:
• The wind! Being so close to the ocean means it can get a little breezy—pack accordingly.
• The luggage cart is a bit tricky to manage in and out of the elevator…trust me, it’s worth mentioning!
• No in-room dining service, but you can order from Caravan, Scenic Route, or Doordash/Uber Eats and pick up food at the front desk.
• There’s no microwave or coffee maker in the room, and fridge space is a little tight—so plan your snacks accordingly!
Overall, The Hotel June is such a dreamy place to unwind while still being close to everything LA has to offer. It's the perfect blend of modern, chic, and comfort. Whether you're flying in for a quick trip or spending a few days exploring, this spot has everything you need for a stylish and relaxing stay.
